Neighborhood Quarterly Meeting Minutes

November 12, 2019

Officers present:  Mike McGinn, Kevin King, Joe Monaco, and Mary Reed

The Bellwood Neighborhoods Civic League was held 7:00 pm at the home of Joanna Goode at 2229 Margaret Drive.  President Mike McGinn called the meeting to order.  The meeting began with a raffle (the prize was a $25 gift card) for those who arrived prior to the 7:00 pm meeting time.  Joanna Goode won the prize.

The minutes were provided by Mary Reed and posted on website.  Mike asked if any changes to minutes.  Kelvin King motioned to approve minutes and seconded by Leslie Hart.

Treasurer’s Report:

Kelvin King presented the treasurer’s report. He provided the bank statement from The Wells Fargo bank dated October 31, 2019.  He reported the corrected name on bank statement to Bellwood Neighborhoods Civic League.  New checks have been ordered to reflect name change.  The community picnic was $100 overage.  Hospitality was under budget.    There will be a revisit of BNCL budget for 2020.  Mike McGinn and Kevin King will review budget and present at next meeting.  Joe Monaco motioned to accept report and seconded by Charlie Williams.

Committee reports:

Hospitality– Marilyn Russell reported new families are in the neighborhood. She visited the following addresses:   2224 Margaret Dr., 2115 Bordeur, 2205 Sleeper Court, 4009 Vineyard and 4029 Sarsfield.

Gift baskets were given to the following families (Romans and Harrison) for passing of family members.

Entrance Way – Bill Broth name will no longer be able to provide support for entranceway.  John Dicarlo will be available to assist in entranceway maintenance.  The front entrance maintenance is scheduled 1 more visit. For 2019.

Neighborhood Watch and Dues update– Cheryl Monaco reported the percentage of dues paid for the community, Bellwood Meadows (48%), Bellwood Estates (51%) and Bellwood Forrest (30%).  Mike McGinn will be block captain for (2200-2229 Margaret Dr. and Binford Ct.) In January Cheryl will notify block captains to solicited dues from residents.

Website – Todd Garrett reported that website has updated “RSVP “button that has been activated on BNCL website.  Posting on the website is now available for local professionals who are members who have paid civic dues.

Review of Community Picnic

Estimated attendance was better than 2018 with more teenagers were in attendance. The next community picnic is scheduled for September 19, 2020, 3:00-5:00 pm.

New Business:

Christmas decorations

Joe Monaco, Mike McGinn and Leslie Hart will judge the neighborhood’s Christmas lights.  Judging will be Fri., Dec. 20th at 7:00 pm.  Winner’s prize will be the payment of 2020 civic league dues.

February 12 – Mike and Shannon McGinn – 2249 Margaret Dr.

May 16 – Neighborhood cul-de-sac – 4005 Margaret Circle at 5:30 pm

August 11 – Kelvin and Debbie King – 4005 Margaret Circle

November 10- Joe and Cheryl Monaco – 4004 Margaret Circle

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
